CMH built a blog site for a client, who decided she wanted to sell the products she was promoting on her blog. She wanted a new e-Commerce website, that was easy for her to add products, was scaleable enough to meet future e-Commerce demands, integrated with her social media outlets, and clearly displayed the products she was promoting.
bluegraygal was seeking an e-Commerce platform, which was easy to use, and scalable enough to meet future shopping demands, and presented a clean crisp layout, which complimented her existing blog site. Their requirements were:
Hosted platform – She wanted a platform, which would scale to meet future shopping demands.
Mobile Ready – The new site needed to be easy for visitors to browse and purchase products from any device.
Social Integration – The site needed to have an Instagram feed, which would always display her latest posts.
Customized Slider Overlays – Each slider image needed the ability to display a different message, with a link to promote a specific collection.
Pop-Up Newsletter Subscription – The site needed to have a pop up offering a custom message, and the ability to subscribe to her newsletter.
Product Features – The site needed to be easy to add or edit products, as well as descriptions, shipping details, colors, etc…
CMH Technology Consulting researched several e-Commerce platforms, including WooCommerce and Shopify, and presented a cost benefit analysis on each platform. The client selected Shopify primarily because it was a fully hosted solution which included all the features they wanted. The site build required many custom CSS elements, to get it right, and the result is a crisp, elegant site which met our client’s requirements and exceeded their expectations.
